1) Alexander was a great man. He forged an empire that spread over three continents. We conquered lots of land from Greece to parts of India. Places in between being Egypt, Persia and Syria. Alexander created an army that was strong we were never defeated. We even conquered India when they fought with elephants. Who fights with elephants? Being Alexander's army is a grueling experience. However we were a phenomenal army. Alexander had willpower, tactics, knowledge, and morality. We all looked up to Alexander because he was an good leader. Our army was the best military machine that Asia and Greece had ever seen.
Alexander's Empire
2) Alexander blended cultures together while he spread his empire. When he conquered all of the land he created a new culture Hellenistic. He peacefully integrated Greek culture into his newly conquered lands. Greek culture was spread from the Mediterranean to the border of India. Since his entire empire had similar culture they were unified. A unified empire will work well together. This helped Alexander's empire. Alexander did not force Hellenism on anyone he just strongly suggested it to his new lands. Alexander's empire is still unified today. It is still a phenomenal empire.3) Rosa Parks is a great leader just like Alexander. Rosa Parks would not give her seat up for a white man on the bus. Just like her, Alexander would not give up. Lots of people resented Alexander for conquering other people's land and killing innocent people, but now he is seen as a great person. Rosa Parks was arrested for what she did, but now she has a statue in the Capital Building in Washington D.C. Rosa Parks is one of the greatest people from the civil rights act. Alexander is also one of the greatest people from his time.

I really like how you said you were at Alexander's wedding, it was very creative. I agree that Alexander was a great man. It caught my eye how you said we even defeated their army and they used elephants. I also thought it was a good point how you said Alexander did not force Hellenism he suggested it. Rosa Parks was a very great lady and I would not have thought to compare him to her. It stood out to me because she was even arrested and still considered a great person.
ReplyDeleteThanks!!
DeleteI love how you put elephants in it and how you(as a soldier) thought it was weird to fight with elephants. Also, I like your wording, it keeps you really interested. Good job!
ReplyDeleteIt was cool to see that you included a background for your soldier! Most people (myself included) just said that we were a soldier. I do not agree that Alexander was a great man or had very much "morality". In my research, I found that while he was a great leader, he was actually a horrible person and he mistreated even his closest friends on occasion. It is interesting that you compared Alexander to Rosa Parks, because most people compared him to a man. I think it was awesome of you to do that, because Rosa Parks was a very gutsy woman.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the notes.
DeleteI think it's interesting how you viewed hellenism. I liked it when you said that he had not forced hellenistic cultures on others, he just suggested it.
