Alexander the Great

1. Alexander was considered great because of all the amazing accomplishments he had in his lifetime. He has great military tactical skills, that helped conquer large amounts of land. Alexander defeated the persians with his perfected Macedonian military. Also, Throughout all of his conquerings, he founded new cities. Alexander was considered great not necessarily for being a nice person, but for a strong, effective leader.

2. The cultural blending aided the army because the army used tips they learned from other places as they conquered more land. Alexanders settlement of Greek colonists and culture in the east resulted in a new Hellenistic culture. Alexander and his army peacefully integrated Greek culture in his new land. The Greek culture spread and influenced the all the places Alexander and his army conquered.

3. Alexander the Great and Martin Luther King Jr. are both people that made huge marks on history, and both can be considered great, but for different reasons. Alexander the Great was considered great mostly because of having a strong military, and conquering a lot of land. Martin Luther King Jr. is considered great because of how important his voice was in the Civil Rights Movement. King used non-violence resistance to overcome injustice , and did all he could to tell people "all men are created equal." The opinion of Alexander the Great has not changed much over time, but the opinion of King has. Many people back during the Civil Rights Movement didn't like King, because they didn't agree with him. Now days, most all people like him because of the great things he did for the equality of people.
